We run a variety of different craft and knitting events for both adults and children. Please see below for a full list of upcoming activities. These must all be pre-booked so please give us a call as soon as possible on 01943 817788 to reserve your place.

Over the summer we have put together a list of exciting courses for children to try different creative activities.

Ages are a guideline but children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.  If you are not interested in one of the courses we will still be open to all visitors for pottery painting (phone to reserve a table), wool and as a cafe.

Course Details

 

Enamelling  (Open session)

You will make a decorated copper item (with instruction) and see it fired in the kiln.  It will be ready to take home that day.  This activity is to be done with parents / guardians.

Cost:  Starting at £3.50  Suitable for ages 4 and above with parental help

 

Blackboard Painting Project

Produce a unique blackboard (see the ones on display at Create).  This uses a variety of techniques to produce a fantastic and fun painted blackboard.  Different options and designs.  This course is suitable for children 7 years and above.

Cost:  £20.00 (includes all materials)

 

Knitting

The Learn to Knit course is run in two parts.  The course will show the children the basics of knitting and will give them enough information to complete a project.  This course is suitable for children 7 years and above.

Cost:  Course (over 2 mornings) plus all materials needed £20.00

 

Felted Jewellery

Create your own unique jewellery - you will be felting wool to make part of the jewellery as well as painting ceramic beads.

Age 6 years and above (children under 7 to be accompanied by an adult)

Cost:  £15.00

 

Pot Making

At last you can come and make your own pottery, you will be making a pot using coils of clay and you will also have the chance to have a go at making a pot on a potters wheel.  All items will then be fired.  Age 7 years and over

Cost: £15.00

 

Paper Crafts

You will be making paper flowers, cards, postcards, paper animals, paper houses and many other exciting things. Age 6 years and over.

Cost £10.00

 

Wet Felting

This is a really fun way of making your own felt, and then you will be able to produce some beautiful pictures and corsages. Age 7 years and over.

Cost £15.00

 

Learn to Sew

Want to learn a new skill, come along to our learn to sew course, you will learn how to thread a needle, use a pattern and basic sewing stitches to create some lovely toy animals and/or key rings. Age 7 years and over.

Cost £15.00

 

Bubble Painting

Create a fantastic wall plaque using a unique painting method using bubbles. 

Age 6 years and over

Create! is offering some exciting knitting courses for those interested in learning and developing thieir knitting skills, creating some amazing pieces, having fun and meeting new people! Monday 27th July – Parent and Child Knitting (Age 7+)

Spend a day with your child whilst they learn how to knit and create some lovely soft toys. Anne Makepeace and her daughter will be on hand to teach and help.
